“We have two different weddings and receptions on two different weekends,” was what Koy and Albert emailed me with when they were looking for a wedding photographer. An odd situation and inquiry indeed. And, who does that? When I discovered that they were having two weddings because of their different backgrounds, I immediately understood what they needed and could easily relate to it. Koy is Mien and Albert is half Chinese and half Vietnamese. Having two different weddings to please each side of the family was what it came down to for this lovely couple. Coming from a mix marriage myself, me being Mien and Jenny Chinese, I knew what kind of situation and wedding this called for. A little tradition from each culture, mixed with a western twist for a wedding. I mean weddings!
Here are some images to share from their weddings.

Koy and Albert are two fun loving people. Having met and falling in love in college at UC Davis, a wedding was bound to happen. Along with their great family, friends and bridal party, they pulled off two amazing weddings. One in San Jose more for Albert’s family and the other in Sacramento for Koy’s family. Each with it’s own day planned out and with it’s own activities. I’m glad I was able to enjoy and experience the blending of cultures. It’s always nice to see people marrying outside their ethnitcity. In this day and age, it’s not uncommon to see, but to be part of it is something else. Koy and Albert were a great couple to work with and the type of client you’d wish you had as a wedding photographer. Congratulations to these two newlyweds!
