Weddings are typically pretty emotional because 1, you’re marrying the love of your life, 2, you’re giving your daughter away, 3, you realize you or your children are growing up and starting a family of yours or their own, and 4, you cry happy tears because you’re surrounded by family and friends celebrating one of the biggest and happiest days of your lives. Maria and Jonathan’s wedding seemed a little bit special, though. Before the wedding, Jonathan’s mother gave him a blessing. It was quite beautiful and something I don’t see too often at weddings. At the ceremony, Jonathan sang a tune for his new bride as her father walked her down the aisle. At the reception, his father sang them a special song. Lots of tears were shed this day and although Spanish was the primary language that was spoken, I didn’t need to understand what was said to feel the emotion and the love these two families have for each other. Usually, I try not to get to involved at these weddings and just watch and shoot from the sideline, but it was hard not to feel something. It just goes to show why weddings are so beautiful. It not only unites two people who are in love but their families as well. It also helped me realize why I love to shoot weddings; to be able to capture moments for the clients so that they can look back at it years from now. If they can relive those moments again then I’ve done my job. Congratulations Maria and Jonathan! Many well wishes to you and many many happy years together.
A big thank you to all these people that made the day possible. If you were a vendor, please contact me. I would love to give you credit.
