I’m so happy to have been a part of Cammy and David’s wedding. Ever since their engagement session in beautiful Carmel by the Sea, I knew this couple would have an amazing wedding. It started with a church ceremony at Pioneer Congregational United Church of Christ and then was followed by a reception at Happy Garden Chinese restaurant. A traditional Mien tea and face washing ceremony was performed at the door to offer guests with tea or wine, cigarettes, and a hand towel. In return, guests made offerings of gifts and money to the bride and groom. I’m not too sure behind the meaning of the ceremony, but it gave the couple and their parents the chance to welcome guests to the wedding at the door. The rest of the wedding was filled with lots of laughter, tears, and fun. They also had traditional Mien dances perfromed as well some chanting by the older folks. The bride and groom and their families and friends really knew how to get down.
It was such a great event to end 2012. Thank you Cammy and David for making me a part of your wedding day. Congratulations!
