Seems like it was just yesterday when I did engagement photos for Syndie and Su. It quickly escalated to their wedding day and now it’s over…and I’m sad. Syndie and Su were of the good bunch, easy to work with, and a little on the quiet side, but humble and easy going. They had a traditional-modern day Mien wedding, which included the tea ceremony, Mien dancers and dances, and a western ceremony. This time, instead of a church, the I DOs were exchanged at the reception, which was a first for me to see it done this way. The “altar” was beautiful light and decorated. The first dance was even more impressive as the newlywed danced on the clouds! Thanks to the incredible people at Lite Sacramento, they were able to be swept away in billowing clouds. The rest of the evening was filled with fun and then more fun. At the end of the evening, I came to appreciate these Asian and Mien weddings. It’s good to see traditional ethnic weddings embracing the modern era and yet still keeping with tradition and not leaving the older generation clueless. Also in reverse, it allows the younger generation to see some of how weddings USE TO BE. Congratulations Syndie and Su! It was truly a beautiful wedding. I wish you all the love and happiness.
A big thank you to all these people that made the day possible. If you were a vendor for this wedding, please contact me so that I can give you credit.
